That means winning all of the remaining games, starting with Sunday’s matchup against the Titans - a team who also missed out on the postseason, and haven’t won at home since the start of the year.
Mahomes suffers season-ending injury
Andy Reid will be without star quarterback Patrick Mahomes who underwent surgery on Monday to repair ruptured knee ligaments. Mahomes suffered tears to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and lateral collateral ligament (LCL) tear in his left knee right at the end of last weekend’s 16-13 defeat to the Chargers.
Afterwards Mahomes published an update on X: “Don’t know why this had to happen. And not going to lie it’s hurts. But all we can do now is Trust in God and attack every single day over and over again.”
Dr. Dan Cooper, the Dallas Cowboys’ head team physician, performed the operation. "He had no artery damage, no nerve damage, no joint surface damage, no meniscal damage. He’s already started rehab down in Dallas,“ was the post-op verdict.

With Mahomes recovering, Gardner Minshew is expected to be the Chiefs starting quarterback for the final three games. “I’ve got a ton of confidence in Gardner,” Reid said. “Chris Oladokun, behind him, will work up there. Chris has been with us for a while, too. Those are two guys our guys trust and will play hard for.”
