When it rains, it pours. And in Dallas, it’s thunderstorms and lightning shows. Not content with having already lost 4 games in 2024, the Cowboys thought another lasso wrapped around their ankles would do the job of upping the stakes for the season and will now be without star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who went down in the game against the New York Giants.

It’s Week 9 and the Cowboys are flailing their arms in all directions, hoping they catch the right pass and throw another, with two straight defeats their latest results after poor showings on the field.

'I don’t think there’s anything I can’t do'

Parsons missed his third consecutive practice to finish the week with the injury causing the issue a high ankle sprain.

I don’t think there’s anything I can’t do physically,” Parsons said of his injury status. “Like I said, it’s just more they want to make sure I’m at my best and they kind of know what my best looks like, and so it’s just one thing that just got to keep working and showing it. They’re monitoring the situation.”

It will be his fourth consecutive game out for his side who will likely rely on veteran defensive end Carl Lawson to replace him once again. The role for Lawson is set to be a huge task, as Parsons had recorded 14 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and defended one pass in four appearances this season.

The Cowboys ruled out two other players for Week 9: cornerback DaRon Bland and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, who went down in the same game as Parsons, against the New York side.

The Falcons play the Cowboys at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 1 p.m. ET.
