Gymnast Simone Biles has been married to Jonathan Owens, a player for the NFL Chicago Bears, since last year, and they will be together at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In an interview with USA TODAY, the multi-time Olympic medalist revealed that the Bears will give her husband permission to be absent from training camp so he can support her in the Olympic Games.

“The Bears are giving him a couple of days off from training camp, so he’ll be there, yeah,” the four-time Olympic champion said. “Only for a short time.”

Biles will begin her participation on July 28 with the qualifying rounds in the team events, and everything will culminate on August 1 with the all-around. With this in mind, the Chicago safety will miss the game of the Hall of Fame in which the Bears will face Houston, Texas, one of their former teams.

The athletes have been a couple since 2020, thanks to an online dating platform, but they could not meet in Tokyo for the 2020 summer tournament, which was postponed to 2021. Both live together during the NFL offseason in Spring, Texas, so Biles can train at the World Champions Center.

The Bears' expectations for Jonathan Owens

Owens arrived in Chicago as a free agent, signing a two-year deal in March of this year in exchange for $4.75 million after spending the last season with the Green Bay Packers.

Simone Biles’ husband is projected to be the backup to Jaquan Brisker, the Bears’ starting strong safety. Additionally, he will see a lot of action on special teams because he played 54 percent of the special team’s snaps during his stay in Green Bay.
