SUPER BOWL LVII

Will there be Manningcast for the 2023 Super Bowl?

The ManningCast is an alternate NFL TV broadcast hosted by brothers and football legends Peyton and Eli Manning. Will we be seeing them on Super Bowl LVII?

Hosted by NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, the ManningCast first aired in September 2021 as an alternative presentation of Monday Night Football. The show, aired on ESPN2 and ESPN+. quickly gained popularity among football fans, owing largely to the brothers’ personalities.

The first season had ten episodes, the last of which was their coverage of the Wild Card game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams. Viewership of the show averaged over a million for the year.

The ManningCast curse

Big-name players appeared on their show, until a trend appeared that was soon called the “ManningCast curse”. The term was coined because their player guests would perform poorly and lose in the game following their appearance on the show.

Back for seconds

The Mannings came back for a second season in the 2022-23 NFL campaign, again for ten episodes. The ManningCast received critical acclaim, and was awarded a Sports Emmy for outstanding live sports series. The brothers last appeared in the wild card game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs.

Their fans will see them come back in 2023, but unfortunately not for Super Bowl LVII. Viewers will have to wait till the fall when NFL 2023-24 begins to watch their next season.

The Mannings signed a three-year deal with ESPN, and since their show has met with relative success, it is more than likely that the network will renew their contracts.
