Golf at the 2024 Olympics in Paris is about to get underway and with that, we’re taking a look at the tee times and groupings for Round 1 of the competition.
Some of the world’s best golfers will be teeing off on Thursday, August 1st at Le Golf National outside Paris, France. With the likes of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and rising star Xander Schauffele in the field, the Americans are well represented, but they will have their hands full as there are many more stars out there. From Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm to Viktor Hovland, Hideki Matsuyama, Tommy Fleetwood, and Shane Lowry the field is full of them.
As for the marquee groupings, the obvious choice is that of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy who are scheduled to tee off alongside Ludvig Åberg at 10:11 a.m. local time on Thursday in a group that features three of the top four ranked players on the Official World Golf Ranking. Another group of major interest will likely be that of defending gold medalist, Xander Schauffele, who is joined by Ryder Cup stars Viktor Hovland and Jon Rahm at 11.55 a.m. local time. Schauffele is of course fresh off of winning his second major this season, The Open Championship.
