Want to play like the pros? Well, you can. Playing at Pinehurst No. 2 may seem like a pipe dream as we watch the world’s greatest superhuman drives and precise putts from the side, but it can indeed be accessible for those with deep enough pockets.

The sandbanks, pines and wispy grass characterise the setting which will act as host of this week’s U.S. Open; as one of the most iconic golf courses in the sport, Pinehurst No. 2 is certainly a bucket list topper for golf aficionados.

How much does it cost to play at Pinehurst No. 2?

OK, let’s get to it. GOLF.com says that in order to play No. 2, “you have to stay on property for a two-night minimum, and your greens fee will be bundled with things like lodgings, meals and other tee times”.

A three-night stay at Pinehurst costs anywhere between $3,002 and $3,530 per person. A second round on No. 2 is $595 peak season and $360 off-season, with the caddie not included.

The good folk at GOLF.com did the digging and asked an official what a No. 2 tee time might be on its own and stripped of packages, with a Pinehurst spokesperson providing a figure of $470.

How much is a Pinehurst membership?

The approximate Membership Initiation Fee for Pinehurst sits at around $45,000.

US Open last 5 winners:

  • 2019 | Gary Woodland
  • 2020| Bryson DeChambeau
  • 2021 | Jon Rahm
  • 2022 | Matt Fitzpatrick
  • 2023 | Wyndham Clark

While that may seem like a hefty dent in your wallet, the memberhship initiation fee for The Madison Club, a prestigious exclusive club located in La Quinta California, is an eye-watering $500,000.

The 2024 US Open got underway on June 10 and will go on until June 16. After that, once the pros have cleared off, it’ll be our turn to show our talent on the green. Unfortunately, however, there won’t be the same amount of prize money on offer.
