2024 Valspar Championship Round 2 Friday tee times and pairings
Conditions were ideal on Thursday at the Valspar Championship, and they were perfectly utilized by the 45-year-old professional golfer, a former Duke alum.
Kevin Streelman, a longtime PGA Tour veteran, had been struggling in his first six starts of the season. However, in the 2024 Valspar Championship, he surprised everyone with a bogey-free 7-under 64 at the Copperhead Course on Thursday, taking the first-round lead. Streelman credited his success to his good feelings on the range and in the pro-am, a new ball marker he was using that provided helpful visual cues and a great putting performance.
Streelman, who won here in 2013, had missed three other cuts and withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open in 2024. However, sometimes, just changing scenery or playing at a comfortable location is enough to help golfers rediscover their game. Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, who missed the cut at the Players Championship, signed for rounds of 3-under 68 and 2-under 69 on Thursday.

Xander Schauffele, who finished as the runner-up last week, came home in 68, as did Nick Taylor and Keith Mitchell. They also made it to the first few pages of the leaderboard. The next two days of the tournament are expected to be weather-affected at Innisbrook.
