2024/25 SIGA Women Global Mentorship applications open

SIGA has just announced applications are officially open for the 2024/25 edition of the SIGA Women Global Mentorship Programme.

The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) has just announced applications are officially open for the 2024/25 edition of the SIGA Women Global Mentorship Programme. This marks the launch of the sixth cycle of the programme, a key component of the SIGA Global Agenda on Female Leadership in Sport. The initiative aims to cultivate future leaders in sport and advance gender equity in boardrooms, aligning with the SIGA Universal Standards on Good Governance in Sport.

Women aged 24 and above are invited to apply for the Mentorship Programme until July 31, 2024. Spanning eight months, the Programme kicks off in October 2024. It entails mentees being paired with one of the high-level #SIGAWomen Global Mentors, alongside interactive Group Digital Workshops. These workshops delve into various topics concerning Sport Integrity and Gender Equity, including Athlete Transitioning Careers, Goal Setting, Good Governance, Sexual Harassment & Discrimination, and Mental Health.

Distinguished global mentors from the previous cycle hailed from organizations such as Adidas, Asics, Aspire Academy, CONCACAF, EY, FIBA, FIFA, Google, Mastercard, Octagon, PGA Tour, São Paulo FC, Tata Consultancy Services, UN Global Compact, US Center for Safe Sport, and Yale University, among others worldwide. The 2023/2024 programme that is currently still in process connects 150 women in total, providing mentorship to 75 mentees from 35 countries around the world. This saw 75 mentees benefiting from mentorship, contributing to the expansion of this vibrant global community of like-minded women.

Katie Simmonds, SIGA’s Global COO and Managing Director of the SIGAWomen Programme, remarked on the commencement of the application process:

Hot off the heels of last month’s successful SIGA Summit on Female Leadership in Sport held in New York, we are thrilled to officially open the 2024/2025 SIGAWomen Global Mentorship Programme for aspiring female leaders in the industry. The impact of this initiative is remarkable, building confidence, developing expertise, and providing an unrivalled network of likeminded women with transformational power to create future opportunities.

Building on the SIGAWomen momentum, we are determined to continue expanding the programme year on year. I call on everyone that participated in this year’s Summit, in person and virtually, to join our effort to narrow the gender gap in terms of female representation on the boardroom of sports organisations globally. If every sports organisation and sponsor supported the programme by sending at least one aspiring female leader, we can create long lasting cultural change and move the needle. Apply now here!”
