The Waialae Country Club, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, is the prestigious venue for the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii. This event, held from Jan. 15 to Jan. 18, 2026 is the first official PGA event of the season, and attracts some of the world’s top golf professionals.
The hotel and golf course lands were leased from the Bernice P. Bishop Estate, and Waialae Golf Course was officially opened on February 1, 1927. The renowned golf architect Seth Raynor and his associate Charles Banks were responsible for the course’s design and construction. Their exceptional work can be seen in various holes of the course.
How much does playing at the Waialae Country Club cost?
Membership fees are substantial, with initiation fees reportedly between $50,000 and $70,000 with annual dues of approximately $10,000. However, during the Sony Open, spectators can enjoy the course by purchasing tickets to the event.
