BMW PGA Championship preview - How to watch, who to watch, the course and prize money
This weekend, it’s the DP World Tour’s time to shine, with its flagship event the BMW PGA Championship teeing off at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England.
With no PGA Tour or LIV Golf events this weekend, golf fans will be focusing on the DP World Tour as it holds the BMW PGA Championship from Sept. 8-11 in England.
The tournament to be held at the West Course of the Wentworth Club will feature a strong field this year, led by world number three Rory McElroy of Northern Ireland, Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick, and Jon Rahm of Spain- all players who are favored by oddsmakers to do well in the contest.

Other top players who will participate include defending champion Billy Horschel, Shane Lowry of Ireland, and Belgium’s Thomas Pieters.
McIlroy currently leads the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai Leaderboard, followed by Fitzpatrick and Pieters.
One factor that is expected to bring some interest and tension to the tournament is the participation of players who have jumped ship to join Saudi-financed LIV Golf. Patrick Reed, Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, and Sergio Garcia are among the LIV players who will be taking part in the European tour.
McIlroy had recently denounced the inclusion of players from the breakaway circuit at the BMW PGA Championship, saying it “doesn’t sit right” with him.

The West Course of the Wentworth Club was designed by Harry Colt, and is popular among golf fans from all around the world. It’s a par 72 course of 7,267 yards. It’s a challenging track with well-placed bunkers and thick rough.
