Deontay Wilder is working on a two-fight deal with Anthony Joshua

‘The Bronze Bomber’ wants to be involved in big fights again and he’s trying to get to an agreement with AJ to meet him twice inside the ring.

Deontay Wilder is ready to return to action and he wants to make it in a spectacular way. The former heavyweight champion has revealed that he’s trying to reach an agreement with Anthony Joshua on a two-fight deal to fight the charismatic Brit in Saudi Arabia and Africa later.

While it’s unclear who decided to include a second match option in the negotiations, it would make sense if it came from Joshua’s side, as Wilder is one of the most powerful punchers in the heavyweight division’s history and the Watford native hasn’t looked particularly good in his most recent fights.

Would he activate the rematch clause in case he would get knocked out by the Alabama star? It’s not a sure thing, as Joshua recently admitted he has made lots of money in boxing and that he could happily retire, without having to keep suffering damage in more fights.

Wilder, determined to get the Joshua deal

Wilder’s last fight took place in October when he knocked Robert Helenius out in the first round. It was an awaited comeback from the Alabama fighter, who needed to record a win after suffering back-to-back losses to Tyson Fury.

Now, he seems determined to reach a deal to fight Joshua next.

That’s the one that’s up next. I’ll be getting in camp for that real soon. It’s going to be a great, great fight between me and him”, he said to ESNEWS.

Wilder, 37, is confident he can take Joshua out if both men finally get to face each other inside the ring. His confidence probably comes from the Brit’s last performances, losing three of his last five fights.

After his defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr. and his two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua has looked like a shell of the fighter he once was and Wilder, 37, wants to capitalize on that, knowing he won’t be in the sport much longer and being aware that he still has the power to knock anyone out.
