Djokovic hints at one last Olympic run: Los Angeles 2028 is on his mind
Speaking to Corriere della Sera, the Serbian tennis star expressed his desire to defend his Olympic gold medal in 2028. “My wish is to get there.”

Novak Djokovic isn’t ruling out another shot at Olympic gold. The Serbian star, who won the tennis title at the Paris 2024 Games, suggested he may try to defend his medal at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. His comments came during the opening ceremony of the Milan–Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics, where he appeared as a special guest.
Speaking to Italy’s Corriere della Sera, Djokovic admitted that 2028 still feels far away—but the desire is there. “It’s a long way off. At this stage of my life and career, everything feels far away,” he said. “But I do have the desire to make it to the 2028 Olympics.”

A spectacular opening ceremony—and Djokovic loved every minute
Djokovic also shared his excitement about attending his first Winter Olympics opening ceremony. “It’s great to be in Italy, a country with a deep love for sports,” he said. “We expected a big show, and that’s exactly what we got. It was my first time at a Winter Olympics opening ceremony, and it was incredible. I’m thrilled I got to experience it with my family.”

A fan in the stands—and maybe inspired for one last dance
Djokovic has stayed in Italy as a spectator, enjoying the Winter Games like any other fan. On Sunday, he was spotted watching the team figure skating final, where he stood to applaud American star Ilia Malinin, one of the breakout performers of these Olympics. Who knows—maybe that moment of inspiration nudged Djokovic a little closer to imagining one last Olympic run in Los Angeles in 2028.
