Expensive tickets for the Canelo Alvarez-Jaime Munguia fight

The Guadalajara native will take on Munguia in an all-Mexican clash on the Cinco de Mayo weekend at T-mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

An explosive, full-action fight is expected when Saul Alvarez and Jaime Munguia go head-to-head on the Cinco de Mayo.

The undisputed super middleweight champion will be looking to record the 61st victory of his career when he takes on the young and dangerous Tijuana-bred talent, who defeated John Ryder in style, by technical knockout in the ninth round in January.

It will be Canelo’s first fight against a Mexican fighter since he defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in 2017. The 33-year-old will make his return to the ring after dominating Jermell Charlo over 12 rounds last September.

Alvarez has been criticized for not facing David Benavidez, as it was the fight all the fans were waiting for, as a rematch with Dimitry Bivol seemed quite unlikely due to Canelo’s desire to only fight him again at light heavyweight and the fact that the Russian will be facing Artur Beterbiev in June for all the belts at 175.

While most experts believe Canelo will get his hand raised, some other voices believe that the undefeated Munguia could pull off the upset, as he has the opportunity of a lifetime to beat one of the biggest boxing stars in recent times, something that only Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Bivol have been able to do so far.

Canelo Alvarez-Jaime Munguia fight: tickets from $460

Will Munguia be able to shock the world at T-Mobile Arena? Or will Canelo record another routine victory? Many fans will tune in to watch the fight and see if they get the shaky Alvarez who fought Ryder or the solid one who beat Jermell Charlo last time out.

For those who are thinking of seeing the bout live in Las Vegas, they will have to spend a significant amount of money.

According to Vividseats, the cheapest ticket that can be found is $465. Depending on the section and the closer the seats are, that amount will increase considerably. Prices then range from $500 to $15,000, with the most expensive tickets going as high as $21,931.
