Floyd Mayweather Jr. has had four exhibition fights since officially retiring from professional boxing and he is getting ready to return to the ring for a fifth. Several reports indicate that Money could return to the ring for a rematch against Connor McGregor.

Mayweather on Canelo Álvarez

As he continues to stay in shape and training at 45-years-old, Mayweather was interviewed by Fight Hype and talked about the rise of Saúl Álvarez. Money states that the Mexican boxer got the views and attention he did because Canelo was fighting on Money’s undercards.

How did Canelo blow up? Canelo got blown up because he was fighting on my undercard. Every time I fight, he’ll fight on my undercard and the ultimate goal was to build him to fight me,” said Mayweather.

Last week Saúl Canelo Álvarez talked about what he learned from the losses against Dmitry Bivol and Floyd Mayweather as well as how he felt. “I always learn, I always learn. Especially from a loss, I always learn. I’m that kind of person who always tries to get better and better,” Canelo told Fight Hype.
