George Foreman: from boxer to preacher to businessman
Foreman began competing in the 1960s and became one of the world’s greatest boxers ever. He won the gold medal in 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City after only fighting 20 times as an amateur.
He won his first heavyweight title in 1973 when he knocked out Joe Frazier, who won gold at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. He would lose that title the following year in the famous “Rumble in the Jungle” to 1960 gold medalist Muhammad Ali.
Defying expectations though, he would reclaim the title once again at age 45, after coming out of retirement by beating undefeated Michael Moorer in 1994.

During the ten years that he spent in his first retirement, he became an ordained minister. The same year as his comeback, he began selling the George Foreman Grill.
The popular grills became a mainstay in American kitchens and over a 100 million units have been sold. He sold the worldwide rights to the product in 1999 making a multimillion-dollar fortune from the deal.
