Update:

Gervonta “Tank” Davis is facing serious new allegations of domestic violence, just two weeks before his exhibition bout against Jake Paul in Miami on November 14.

What are the accusations against Gervonta?

According to a civil lawsuit filed in Miami-Dade County and obtained by ESPN, Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, accuses the WBA lightweight champion of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The complaint alleges that Davis entered Tootsies – Miami’s largest strip club – where Rossel worked as a VIP cocktail server, in the early hours of Monday, dragged her through the venue and attacked her in a parking area.

Rossel, who says she was in a five-month relationship with the fighter, also claims Davis assaulted and choked her in at least four previous incidents and twice threatened to kill her. The lawsuit adds that she now suffers from PTSD and anxiety and has been forced to live with others out of fear for her safety.

The filing comes just two months after a separate domestic violence case against Davis was dropped by another ex-girlfriend, the mother of two of his children. The boxer, who has previously faced charges for domestic assault and a 2023 hit-and-run case, has yet to comment publicly on the latest accusations.

Is Davis vs Paul fight still on?

At the time of writing, Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions has not confirmed whether the lawsuit will affect the scheduled fight at Miami’s Kaseya Center. For now, the bout remains on the card... but there is understandable uncertainty outside the ring.
