“Gervonta is disrespectful to the sport”
Three-division champion criticizes the fight between Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul, which, according to the YouTuber, is in negotiations.

Shakur Stevenson (23-0-0, 11 KOs) couldn’t hold back when asked about a possible fight between Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) and Jake Paul (11-1-0, 7 KOs). The YouTuber confirmed rumors that he was in talks with Tank for a future matchup, which frustrates Shakur, who has been calling for a unification bout for years.

After several rumors about Paul’s future, the American confirmed negotiations with his team. First, he will face Julio César Chávez Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KOs) on June 28 in Anaheim, USA, and after targeting Canelo Álvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs), the YouTuber revealed he was in talks with Gervonta Davis.
Although nothing is official or on the table yet, Shakur spoke about it after announcing his fight with William Zepeda (33-0-0, 27 KOs). “Man, Tank is disrespecting the sport if he chooses that instead of fighting me,” the American told FightHub TV. Stevenson has been demanding a fight with him to unify the lightweight division (Shakur holds the WBC title and Gervonta, the WBA).
In his last fight, Tank had a controversial draw with Lamont Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs) in March, and both fighters agreed their next step should be a rematch. For now, Davis has not commented on his future. “I’m the best fighter in the sport, I’ve been saying it, and he said it wasn’t true, so if he’s going to say it’s not true and that I’m not who I say I am, then let him come prove it,” Shakur said.
Lack of confidence for Haney
Stevenson also spoke about Devin Haney (32-0-0, 15 KOs). He was the former WBC champion until he gave up the belt after losing to Ryan García (24-2-0, 20 KOs), and there was a lot of expectation about his comeback. A few weeks ago, he returned to the ring with a unanimous decision win over José Carlos Ramírez (29-3-0, 18 KOs), but it wasn’t convincing.
Haney appeared very elusive, moving excessively around the ring as if he was running. “I think he just needs to regain a bit more confidence. If he gets his confidence back 100% after what happened, you can say he’ll be in a good spot,” Shakur said.
