Here’s what Oscar De La Hoya thinks will happen in Jake Paul vs. Chávez Jr. fight
‘The Problem Child’ returns to the ring for the first time since beating Mike Tyson by unanimous decision in November.

Seven months after his epic bout against Mike Tyson, without doubt the biggest fight of his career so far, Jake Paul steps back into the ring this evening to face Julio César Chávez Jr. at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Paul has been defeated just once in 12 fights - his only defeat was to Tommy Fury via a split decision in February 2023. Chávez Jr. is older and more experienced that his opponent with 62 fights under his belt and a 54-6-1 professional record. At 39, he’s also much less active recently with just one fight in the last three and a half years - a victory by unanimous decision against UFC fighter Uriah Hall last July.

De La Hoya’s picks
Boxing promoter and former world champion Óscar De La Hoya has made some bold predictions ahead of this weekend’s high-profile fights.
In true theatrical style, De La Hoya brought slipped on a robe and American flag-motif boxers as he made his picks for tonight’s big bouts.
He qualifies the main event between Jake Paul and Julio César Chávez Jr. as a clash of “experience versus ambition.” The verdict? Jake Paul by split decision after 12 rounds, citing Paul’s hunger and momentum as the deciding factors.
As for the co-main event, where Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez defends his unified cruiserweight titles against Yuniel Dorticos, De La Hoya predicts a fourth-round knockout win for Ramírez, confident the Mexican champ will retain his belts with ease.
🚨“Imagine if Jake Paul can hurt or even wobble Chavez Jr. It’s something Canelo didn’t do or couldn’t do! Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is a REAL fight!”-Oscar De La Hoya
