Gervonta Davis (29-0-0, 27 KO) picked up his crown after winning what has been dubbed the fight of the year. The man from Baltimore won by TKO in the seventh round against Ryan García (23-1-0, 19 KO) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in a heart-stopping bout. He knew to keep the rhythm of the fight high, controlled the distance and sent the boxer of Mexican descent to the canvas twice.

After months of insults, tense face to face moments and various predictions, we now have a winner and it is, how could it be otherwise, the man known as Tank.

Gervonta stars in front of boxing legends

Nobody wanted to miss the big fight. Manny Pacquiao and Mike Tyson were in the audience. Floyd Mayweather entered the ring with Gervonta, showing that there was no longer any problem between them. The arrivals of both boxers were a spectacle to behold. Ryan Garcia came out with a slower, more soulful song, while Davis came out with a strong beat. The crowd did not stop cheering, the T-Mobile Arena was a party.

Ryan Garcia was quick into the center of the ring in the first round. Both boxers started prodding and scoring with the jab. Gervonta moved around the ring very well, but the Californian landed a double jab and right hand combination. The level increased in the second round. Garcia would go all out, throwing combinations, but Tank would stay with him. It seemed that the fight was under the control of the boxer of Mexican descent, but then Gervonta arrived with a left to the face that sent him straight to the canvas. It was the second time in his entire career King Ry was going to the ground, but he got up.

Davis was now in control. He set the pace and distance with the jab. Ryan was chasing him around the ring, but more carefully after he had gone to the canvas. In the fourth round, Tank shifted into gear, searching for Ryan’s body with jabs. The intentions of the Baltimore man were already visible. He connected with a good left to the face. There was no shortage of mockery and comments during the assaults. King Ry responded with a right hand, and they exchanged blows.

Then, in the seventh round just as he had predicted, the punch that ended it all came. García was landing good combinations, but Gervonta hit him with a left to the liver that sent Ryan to the canvas. This time he wouldn’t beat the referee’s count.

With that, the boxer from Baltimore won the most anticipated clash. After the match, Gervonta and Ryan hugged each other with a smile, indicating that everything they had said and done was now a thing of the past. The man from California accepted his first defeat, and Tank asks for Canelo as his next rival. The fight promised to be a show and it did not disappoint.
