The United States is in the company of Wales, Scotland, Poland, Australia, and Japan, with three player representatives at this year’s Paddy Power 2024 World Darts Championships.

These players also competed at this season’s Darts World Cup and, through those games, secured the points to qualify for the Ally Pally champs. The United States has appeared in every edition of the World Cup, reaching the last eight phases in each of the first two editions but failing to progress further in subsequent years.

Jules van Dongen

Jules van Dongen, known as “The Dutch Dragon,” burst onto the North American dart scene in 2020. He was born in Meerssen, Netherlands, and his passion for darts began when he watched Raymond van Barneveld during the Lakeside World Championships.

Using traditional wood darts, Jules won his first major tournament, the St. Patrick’s Open and the Woody Dart Tournament in 2020. In 2021, he won the Missouri State Championship and claimed victories at several other championships, including the Cherry Bomb International and the Charlotte Open. On a live stream, he also achieved his first nine-darter against Canadian Jacob Taylor.

Jules is a versatile player, excelling in both steel and soft-tip darts. He earned his CDC Tour Card and invitations to the WDF World Masters, Lakeside World Championships, and a spot representing Team USA at the America’s Cup.

Leonard Gates

Leonard Gates is a professional darts player from the United States who has won several tournaments, including the 2023 World Seniors Darts Masters and the PDC North American championship. Gates also plays in soft-tip darts tournaments of the World Soft Darts Association (WSDA), where he is one of the most popular contenders.

Danny Baggish

Danny Baggish is an American professional darts player sponsored by Target Darts. He won a PDC tour card in 2021, becoming the only American to do so. Baggish won the North American Championship, qualifying for the 2020 PDC World Darts Championship. He also won a CDC Pro Tour event in Philadelphia and became the first American to win a PDC European Tour game at the 2022 German Darts Grand Prix.
