The final round of the DP World Tour Championship promised to be a thriller and fans were not disappointed at the Jumeirah Golf Estates course in Dubai.

The culmination of the Race to Dubai series featured some of golf’s top names with many of the tour’s top 50 ranked players in 2024 in action including the likes of European Ryder Cup stars Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre, Thorbjorn Olesen, Shane Lowry and Justin Rose.

Going into Sunday’s final round, things were tight at the top of the leaderboard as Denmark’s Rasmus Højgaard held a two stroke lead over Rory Mcllroy and three over France’s Antoine Rozner.

The Northern Irishman was hoping to bag a third consecutive championship as the contest ended into a two-horse race between the Dane and Mcllroy as the Irishman’s putting started to flag on the second nine.

However, the County Down man gathered himself and regained the lead ultimately winning by two strokes to seal a perfect end to his four rounds at the Jumeirah course.

McIlory also wins 2024 Race to Dubai
