The PGA Tour moves to Vallarta, Mexico, for the first time this season for the 2023 Mexico Open at the historic Vidanta Vallarta Golf Course. The event that teed off on Thursday, April 27, has a prize purse that’s $400,000 more than last year’s $7.3 million. World No. 1, Jon Rahm, headlines the field and will compete for the top prize among the likes of Tony Finau, Wyndham Clark, and Alex Noren. 2023 Mexico Open prize money
According to the PGA Tour’s prize money distribution chart, the 2023 Mexico Open offers a $7.7 million prize purse. The winner of the tournament at Vidanta will get a paycheck of $1,386,000- the standard 18 percent payout of the total purse. The runner-up will bag $839,300.
Apart from the prize money, the champion will also accumulate 500 FedEx Cup points in addition to valuable Official World Golf Ranking points. A two-year exemption on the PGA Tour is also on offer, including a berth in next year’s Tournament of Champions.
