Update:

The PGA Tour finale takes place at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta, Georgia this week, with plenty still to play for between the world’s top golfers.

The season-ending PGA Tour Championship brings together the best players to compete for a huge $40 million prize purse. The field comprises the top 30 money leaders from the PGA Tour season to date.

Across the season the PGA Tour offers players an $83 million total prize purse, some of which was dished out at different points during the last month for players at the top of the FedEx Cup standings. The winners of the Wyndham Championship and the BMW Championships, Cameron Young and Scottie Scheffler, received handsome rewards earlier this month.

At East Lake Golf Course this weekend the winning golfer will take home $10 million of the $40 million total prize purse. Here’s a full look at the prize money on offer for all 30 players...

In addition to the money and the prestige on offer at the PGA Tour Championship, there is also another prize that some players may be eyeing. Last week the qualification process for the upcoming Ryder Cup was concluded, with the top six players on the points list confirmed in the team for Bethpage Black.

However US captain Keegan Bradley also has another six captain’s picks to decide upon before announcing the final team. There are around a dozen players who will be hoping to get the call up but Bradley has insisted that he will not be swayed by this weekend’s action.

Speaking to reporters after shooting 64 on the opening round at the Tour Championship, Collin Morikawa admitted that he was taking nothing for granted as he tries to play himself into the team. The eighth-ranked player is widely expected to get the captain’s call but he is not letting up.

“You’re never comfortable. I don’t think you’re ever comfortable until you get that call and you’re on the team,” he said.

“Look, I hope I’ve done enough. We’ll have to wait and see. But I think, yeah, my focus right now is to try and go out and win this golf tournament. I think if I do that, then hopefully that’s enough, and we’ll see how everything plays out.”
