Carlos Alcaraz’s victory in the Roland Garros final not only marks his first title at the French Open and his third Grand Slam win, but also propels him back to the No. 2 spot in the world rankings. The Spaniard, previously ranked third, surpasses Novak Djokovic by 220 points in the standings, which are now topped by Jannik Sinner for the first time. Alcaraz is 945 points behind the Italian.
Alcaraz overtakes Djokovic in ATP rankings
This significant ranking shift secures Alcaraz a favourable position in the Wimbledon draw, placing him in the bottom half of the bracket. This means he will avoid facing Sinner until a potential clash in the final.

Following his loss in the Philippe Chatrier final on Sunday, Alexander Zverev retains his position as World No. 4 behind Novak Djokovic. The only other change in the top 10 is the re-entry of Australian Alex de Minaur, who climbs to the No. 9 spot, displacing Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, who drops to 11th. Notable movers within the Top 100 include Belgium’s Zizou Bergs, who leaps 24 places to rank 80th, and France’s Corentin Moutet, who ascends 23 spots to 56th. What place is Rafa Nadal ranked?
With the Spanish tennis crown appearing to have been handed from Rafa Nadal to Alcaraz, other Spanish players are still fighting to join him near the top. Alejandro Davidovich ranks 32nd and is one of six Spaniards within the Top 100: Pedro Martínez at 46th, Jaume Munar at 60th, Roberto Carballés at 63rd, and Roberto Bautista at 84th, being the others.
The country also has Albert Ramos, at 108th, and then Pablo Llamas at 164th, Oriol Roca at 167th, and Alejandro Moro at 178th. Remarkably, Nadal, once a fixture at the pinnacle of the rankings, has slipped to 261st.
