Tiger Woods is participating in the 2024 British Open at Royal Troon. This marks his return to the Open Championship after missing the cut in 2022. Woods, a three-time Open winner, last played at Royal Troon in 2004, where he tied for ninth place.
But Scheffler faces stiff competition. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, still chasing his elusive fifth major title, hopes to bounce back from his U.S. Open heartbreak. Tiger Woods, the 15-time major champion, returns to compete in all four majors for the first time since his 2021 car crash.
The British Open field also includes other contenders like Ludvig Åberg, Viktor Hovland, and Jon Rahm. Scheffler, fresh off his Masters Tournament victory, seeks to add another major to his impressive 2024 campaign.
