Update:
Following months of anticipation, Jake Paul and Nate Diaz will finally enter the boxing ring but how much money will they be making when they do?

UFC fighter Nate Diaz will make his boxing debut against Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in what promises to be an intense 10-round boxing match at 185-lbs catchweight. The buildup to the showdown has been fraught with tension and we’ve even seen a brawl. Now, the question everyone wants to be answered is ‘just how much are these guys going to pocket when the final bell goes?’

Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz: The Tension

On Saturday, August 5th, Jake Paul and Nate Diaz will take on each other at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The so-called “Problem Child” will likely be facing his toughest test so far in the former UFC fighter as they headline the show. To be clear, there is a great deal of expectation surrounding the bout after what has been a turbulent buildup. As recently as Thursday the security teams for both fighters were involved in a brawl during what was meant to be an official face-off to promote the fight. Indeed, it was something that Diaz himself spoke to as he seemingly looked to put a lid on Paul’s provocation, something he believes is the reason things kicked off.

“Nah, it don’t matter,” he said on DAZN. “Whatever happens, happens, but it usually could go better or worse, so it’s all good.” Considering the history of Diaz’s brawls outside the cage, he’s not wrong. After all, as recently as April, Diaz saw a warrant issued for his arrest after knocking unconscious a Jake Paul lookalike in the streets of New Orleans. This is to say, things could well have been much worse as Diaz admitted. On the other hand, it is worth a smile that Diaz managed to turn the tables on Paul who has accused him of being the villain. “That’s what I’m saying about he keeps calling me the bad guy and the bully and s***,” Diaz said. “He’s a bully. He’s the one that said they started the term influencer, right?”

So, what about the purse for Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz?

Quite frankly, these boys are set to get paid for their 10-round effort. While exact purse payouts haven’t been confirmed, multiple reports suggest that Paul could take home an estimated $2 million, while Diaz is set to earn a guaranteed $500,000, which incidentally is more than he earned in his last UFC bout against Tony Ferguson. Where Paul is concerned, this is more or less in keeping with what he’s earned in his last few fights. Against Tyron Woodley in 2021 he took home $2 million, and more recently $1.5 million for his clash with former UFC star Anderson Silva. It has also been reported that Paul’s total fight purse when added to PPV shares could rise to as much as $10 million. Of course, while the focus is on money, the question that still remains is, ‘Can Jake Paul actually beat Nate Diaz?’
