Keegan Bradley confirms his Ryder Cup 2025 picks: how much is the U.S. team getting to play in New York?
As Europe plays for pride alone, the U.S. team will collect payouts while chasing Ryder Cup glory at Bethpage Black.

The 2025 PGA Tour season has wrapped up and attention now turns to the 2025 Ryder Cup, set for Bethpage Black Course on Long Island, New York, from September 26 to 28.
The United States will be determined to reclaim the trophy they last won at Whistling Straits in September 2021, when they recorded a record 19-9 victory over Europe. However, Europe struck back in the most recent edition, earning a seventh consecutive home win in Rome in September 2023.
2025 U.S. Ryder Cup team confirmed
- Scottie Scheffler
- JJ Spaun
- Xander Schauffele
- Russell Henley
- Harris English
- Bryson DeChambeau
- Justin Thomas (captain's pick)
- Collin Morikawa (captain's pick)
- Ben Griffin (captain's pick)
- Cameron Young (captain's pick)
- Patrick Cantlay (captain's pick)
- Sam Burns (captain's pick)
U.S. captain Keegan Bradley resisted the temptation to pick himself, instead choosing Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns to accompany Scottie Scheffler, JJ Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau, who qualified automatically.
Controversy over U.S. Ryder Cup payment
Controversy has surrounded the U.S. team in the build-up to this year’s Ryder Cup, particularly over the issue of compensation.
For the first time in the history of the tournament, one side will be paid to play. The 12 American players will each receive $500,000, with $300,000 donated to a charity or charities of their choice.
That leaves each U.S. player with $200,000 in personal earnings, a move some critics argue undermines the tradition and spirit of the Ryder Cup.
Rory McIlroy: “I’d pay to play in the Ryder Cup”
Europe’s players, in contrast, will not receive any payment. After news broke that the Americans would be compensated in New York, Rory McIlroy responded by saying he would “pay for the privilege to play in the Ryder Cup.”
