If there is one man in the world that you don’t mess with it’s probably Mike Tyson, but unfortunately some didn’t get the memo.

Mike Tyson punches man on a plane repeatedly

According to reports, Mike Tyson threw several punches at a man who was allegedly bothering him during a flight out of San Francisco International Airport. Indeed, en route things turned violent when the individual in question who was assigned a seat directly behind the boxing legend, would not stop verbally provoking him. The end result of the altercation was that the man left with a bloody face after being apparently pummeled by the former heavy weight world champion.

Why did Mike Tyson punch his fellow passenger?

As per TMZ Sports, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. PT after Tyson boarded a Jet Blue flight that was bound for Florida. It was also reported that the unnamed individual with whom Tyson had the altercation was “was extremely intoxicated ... and wouldn’t stop provoking the boxer in his seat.” Truly, one has to question just how much one would have to drink in order to voluntarily provoke arguably one of the greatest fighters in the history of combat sports.

What exactly happened between Mike Tyson and the passenger?

On the basis of witness accounts, it was reported that in the initial stage of exchanges between Tyson and the passenger, the boxing legend appeared to be calm and unbothered. After Tyson took his seat, however, it would seem that things took a turn for the worst after the man requested a selfie with Tyson. Once the photo was taken, the man reportedly continued to try to maintain conversation with the former boxer. At that point it became apparent that Tyson was not happy and he even asked the man to stop trying to talk to him. Unfortunately, his request was not heeded at which point witnesses confirm that Tyson became physical.

Once the confrontation was over, which is to say after punching the man several times in the face, witnesses stated that Tyson proceeded to leave the plane. It has since been reported that the man who was injured by Tyson received medical attention and then went to the police. As for what Tyson was doing in San Francisco? According to reports, the boxing great was there to attend the city’s annual 420 cannabis festival.
