TOLGA AKMENEFE

The 2024 PDC World Darts Championships is making headlines around the world unlike any other year. Yes, there is stunning and exciting play on offer, as there always is, but this time around there is a likeable teenager making his debut in the tournament... and he’s made it all the way to the grand final. Luke Littler is 16-years old and he will be getting into his stride on a “ham and cheese omelette, followed by pizza” before taking to the oche and throwing his personalised darts the regulation 7′ 9.25″ distance over and over again.

Up against him is another Luke, ‘Cool Hand Luke’ Humphries (28), the world’s new number one ranked player after reaching the showpiece match.

Littler may not yet be of legal age to drink alcohol, but there will be thousands who are cheering him on to the rafters as he looks to make history in the game. It could be a truly remarkable occasion and you’ll want to know how to stay across it.

What time does Littler - Humphries start?

The final between Littler and Humphries will be played on Wednesday 3 January at the Alexandra Palace in London and the action gets underway at 3 p.m. ET / 12 noon PT. That’s a 9 p.m. start in England so no doubt the crowd will be nicely fired up!

Littler - Humphries: semifinal wins

Here’s how the two young men made it to the showpiece final which is the best of 13 sets:

Luke Littler 6-2 Rob Cross (2-3, 3-2, 3-1, 3-2, 2-3, 3-1, 3-1, 3-2)

Littler - Humphries prediction

OK, so I’m happy to admit that as a journalist, and sporting romantic at heart, my desire for the youngster to go all the way may be dragging my head to predict that he will. I’m fighting the urge - Humphries is a beast - but will stick with the feeling and go for Littler to be on top of the world following a long drawn out final. It promises to be a cracker!
