PGA Tour star achieves incredible feat that’s every golfer’s dream: “Life complete”
Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy had holes-in-one at Pebble Beach on the same day, with one adding to an impressive collection of aces.

Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy, who have become very close friends in their years on the DP World and European Tours, both had hole-in-ones at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on the very same day (Thursday, January 30), which is quite a story in itself.
However, Lowry’s achievement, in conjunction with a couple of others earlier in his career, has made him the envy of golfers all over the world (as if simply being a pro earning millions of dollars a year weren’t enough).
Lowry’s one-of-a-kind hole-in-one hat-trick
The Irishman’s ace came on the 7th hole at Pebble Beach, seen by many as one of the most iconic in golf due to its picturesque scenery. The thing is, Lowry has also repeated the trick at two other holes that are also in contention for that status.
In the final round of the 2016 Masters at Augusta, Lowry picked his spot perfectly on the 16th green, and celebrated wildly as the ball trickled down the slope and found the bottom of the cup.
Then, on Saturday at the 2022 Players Championship at Sawgrass, the 37-year-old pitched his approach beyond the flag on the island green at the 17th, watching it spin back and dance around the hole before dropping.
If you could choose three holes in world golf at which to have a hat-trick of holes-in one, there are plenty who would choose those three. As the Golf Channel put it, “Life Complete”.
