President Donald Trump set to unveil new team for the 2028 Olympics
The President is set to sign an executive order creating a special task force for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

On Monday, it was announced that President Donald Trump will sign an executive order to establish a dedicated task force for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The team will be responsible for coordinating key areas of the event, including security, transportation, visa processing and athlete accreditation. It is one of a number of major international sporting events coming to the US during Trump’s second term in office. Next year the FIFA World Cup is going to be co-hosted in the US and Trump already made a very notable appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer.
According to Reuters, the order is set to be signed on Tuesday and will bring together officials from Trump’s Cabinet and various federal agencies. An administration official said in an email that the streamlined visa and credentialing process would also apply to coaches, officials and international media.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Trump sees it as an honor to help oversee the Games during his second term, adding that the administration believes his first term played a crucial role in securing the United States’ winning bid.
Speaking on Monday, LA28 Chairman Casey Wasserman said: “On behalf of LA28, I want to express our deep appreciation to President Trump and his Administration for their leadership and unwavering support as we prepare to deliver the largest and most ambitious Olympic and Paralympic Games ever hosted in the United States."
“Since we secured this historic opportunity in 2017, President Trump has consistently recognized the magnitude of our responsibility in welcoming the world to Los Angeles.
“The creation of this task force marks an important step forward in our planning efforts and reflects our shared commitment to delivering not just the biggest, but the greatest Games the world has ever seen in the summer of 2028.”
