Scottie Scheffler’s remarkable Pebble Beach charge shines spotlight on jaw-dropping career stats
World No. 1 Scheffler storms back into contention as his staggering three-year PGA Tour stats underline historic consistency.

Just when you thought Scottie Scheffler was, unusually, out of contention going into the final round of a golf tournament, he quickly proved otherwise. The world No. 1 started Sunday at the AT&T Pebble Peach Pro-Am eight shots behind Akshay Bhatia but had overtaken the third-round leader by the time Bhatia finished the sixth hole.
It goes without saying that Scheffler made a sensational start to Round 4, with two birdies and an eagle in his opening four holes immediately putting pressure on those ahead of him. The 29-year-old’s birdie at the 11th, which took him to 8-under for the day, moved him into a tie for second place for the first time.
Usually, it only ends one way, although there is still plenty of golf left to be played once Scheffler completes his final round.
Even if he does not go on to win at Pebble Beach, this is yet another reminder of the relentless consistency that makes Scheffler a factor in every tournament he plays, to an extent we have rarely seen before. The numbers over the last few years back that up.

Scheffler’s cut streak sets the tone
First of all, the New Jersey-born star has not missed a cut since the FedEx St. Jude Championship in August 2022. In three and a half years, he has made it to the weekend and given himself a realistic shot of winning virtually every event he has entered.
In the 2021-22 season, Scheffler secured his first PGA Tour victory and won four times in 25 events, 11 of which he finished inside the top 10. Hugely impressive numbers, but modest compared to what followed.
From contender to dominant force
In 2022-23, he made 23 cuts and finished in the top 10 in 17 events, although he won only twice. Still, his knack for competing at the top of the leaderboard laid the foundations for his dominance on the PGA Tour.
Scheffler won seven times in 19 starts in 2024, posting 16 top-10 finishes. He missed the top 25 only twice, including at the BMW Championship in August, the last time he finished a regular-season tournament over par.
The 2025 campaign was almost as fruitful, with six victories in 20 tournaments. Scheffler finished in the top 10 on 17 occasions and never finished outside the top 25. His worst result was a T25 at the Phoenix Open in February.
Incredibly, he finished in the top 10 in his final 16 events of the year, a run that included major triumphs at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship.
Why you can never count Scheffler out
Of course, Scheffler has already won this year at The American Express in his first start and followed that with a T3 finish in Phoenix at the start of February. He could add a second victory at Pebble Beach, and if he does, it will be further proof that counting out the world No. 1 is always a mistake, no matter how far behind he may be.
