SIGA to hold third annual summit on female leadership in sport in New York
SIGA founding member Mastercard will once again host the Summit on March 7
The Sports Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), the world’s leading independent coalition in the field of sport integrity, is organizing its third annual Summit on Female Leadership in Sport in New York City. The March 7th event will be hosted for the second year in a row by SIGA founding member Mastercard at its Tech Hub in Manhattan.
In efforts to foster gender equity and empower women’s participation in Sports, the SIGA Summit on Female Leadership in Sport will connect multi-industry high-level leaders, both in person and digitally, to share knowledge and expertise on the most pressing topics and challenges facing Sports. This includes Good Governance, Female Leadership in Action, Athlete Activism, Sponsorship, Technology, Mentorship, and Male Allies, among many others.
Building on the success of the 2021 and 2022 editions, the #SIGAWomen Summit on Female Leadership in Sport will be open to everyone. Participation in the webinars is FREE after registering for a Virtual Online Pass. A limited number of in-person passes will soon be available at an early bird rate.
Commenting upon the announcement of the third annual Summit, Katie Simmonds, SIGA’s Global COO and Director of #SIGAWomen Programme, stated:
“The SIGA Summit on Female Leadership in Sport is not just an event - it is an integral part of the #SIGAWomen Programme, designed to create more pathways for female leaders in Sport. This is good governance - And good governance is better business.
The ultimate cultural change we are seeking is gender parity on the board of sports organizations. It is possible. Last year the Sport Integrity Global Alliance amended its Constitution to enshrine gender equity in the SIGA Council. If you are a female leader in the industry, take a step forward and join our effort to leave a legacy for the next generation of aspiring female leaders. Likewise, if you are a male leader, join us as allies. Stay tuned for more information and #EmbraceEquity!”
Alison Giordano, Vice President, Global Consumer Marketing and Sponsorships, Mastercard | Vice-Chair, SIGA Council | SIGAWomen Global Mentor added:
“We’re thrilled to host the Summit on Female Leadership in Sport for the second year in a row. Too much of our world was designed without women in mind – and without women involved. We’re committed to working with organizations like SIGA to bring diverse perspectives to the table to unlock powerful ideas that open up the world’s possibilities to women –in sport and across industries.”
