Tennis star Zarazúa strips off to show her burnt skin: “Australian sun is no joke”
As summer tennis begins in Australia, extreme conditions are already taking a visible toll on players before the year’s first major even begins.

The tennis world is already gearing up for the first Grand Slam of the season, the Australian Open, where once again the heat and soaring temperatures of the Australian summer will take center stage, placing extra physical strain on players during matches.
But the heat will not be the only hazard facing players. In many cases, they will also have to contend with intense sun exposure – something Mexican player Renata Zarazúa experienced firsthand during the tournament in Hobart.
Zarazúa played the opening match of the day on Monday against American Hailey Baptiste, winning 6–7 (5), 6–3, 6–3 after a grueling battle lasting nearly three hours that ended around 2:00 p.m. local time.

After the match, Zarazúa took to social media to show the aftermath on her back, which was completely reddened around the shoulders and covered in multiple burns caused by prolonged sun exposure. “The Australian sun is no joke,” the Mexican player wrote alongside the image, highlighting yet another major danger players will face at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season.
