The UFC teammates supporting legendary Cain Velasquez after 5-year prison sentence for attempted murder of his son’s alleged abuser
While the fighter says he accepts all the punishment that is sent his way for acting incorrectly, there are many who understand what he did.

As we told you on Monday, former UFC heavyweight champion Caín Velásquez was sentenced to five years in prison. This punishment was due to the high-speed chase and shooting incident he was involved in back in February 2022.
Support shown for Velásquez‘s revenge attack
Given that the charges stemmed from an incident where he chased a man, Harry Goularte, accused of sexually abusing Velásquez‘s then four-year-old son at a daycare center – which was owned by the man’s mother, also in the car at the time – there is some sympathy for his attempt at violent retribution.
It was reported that Superior Court Judge Arthur Bocanegra had “tears in his eyes” when delivering his sentence at the Santa Clara County Hall of Justice in San Jose. And support from those in UFC and elsewhere wasn’t slow in coming, including personal letters being sent.
