The American Express tournament is unique in the fact that the action is conducted simultaneously on three courses at La Quinta.

The first three days see the players play three rounds with each player being tested on the Nicklaus Tournament course, PGA West and La Quinta Country Club courses.

Cut at the 2025 American Express

The American Express competition has a cut after 54 holes, in contrast to conventional events that have a cut after 36 holes or two rounds of play.

This implies that every one of the 156 competitors in the field will be in action across three rounds on one of the three designated courses.
