Tyson Fury comes out of retirement to fight again: opponent, time, date, how to watch
Here’s everything you need to know about Fury’s return to action.

British boxing’s baldest heavyweight is heading back into the ring. Tyson Fury (34-2- 1, 24 KOs), the 37-year-old former world champion known as “The Gypsy King,” has confirmed he will end his most recent retirement and return to professional boxing this spring.
Fury’s comeback fight is scheduled for April 11, 2026, when he will face Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs), a powerful fighter with a reputation for knockout wins. The bout will take place not in Saudi Arabia, but the United Kingdom, at a venue yet to be announced.
Fury’s decision to return comes after he stepped away from the sport in early 2025 following consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. Those losses prompted another retirement announcement from the man who has a history of stepping away and then coming back to fight again.

Rather than chasing a trilogy fight with Usyk immediately, Fury has opted for a high-profile bout against Makhmudov, a 36-year-old heavyweight based in Canada. The Russian has a record that includes 21 wins and 19 knockouts and most recently stopped British boxer Dave Allen in Sheffield.
For fans around the world, the big news is that the fight will be streamed live on Netflix — marking one of the streaming giant’s most significant moves into live sport. Netflix has said the event will be available at no extra cost to its subscribers.
“Excited to be back. Heart’s always been and always will be in boxing. Someone go tell the king that the ace is back!”, Fury said. For his part, Mahhmudov said: “I am thrilled about the opportunity. I’m coming to deliver a War. Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready than ever to leave with a massive W.”
