Michael Block is taking his talents to next week’s Charles Schwab Challenge as he continues to celebrate his triumph
Michael Block is coming out of what seems like the most memorable week in his life, and he doesn’t seem to be going back to his club pro day job anytime soon.
The American who teaches at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, California, dazzleed fans this weekend in Rochester, New York, and finished tied for 15th at the PGA Championship. It was also Block’s first and only time to make the cut, even though it was the seventh major in which he competed.
The 46-year-old is now taking his talents to the PGA Tour as he received a sponsor exemption into next week’s Charles Schwab Challenge, May 25-28, at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

His T-15 finish at the tournament punched his ticket to next year’s PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

So how much money has Block picked up so far? Putting aside any endorsements he might have collected, Block’s share of the $17.5 million purse for the event in Rochester was $288,333.33.
