What LIV golfers have qualified for the 2023 Masters? Who won’t be attending?
In a hot showdown between the PGA Tour stars and LIV Golf defectors, the 2023 Masters will be an exciting reunion of world golfers.
The 2023 Masters is going to be a tournament like no other.
Eighteen players from the LIV Golf Tour will be crashing the PGA Tour’s party in Augusta, and some may even take the green jacket home.
Even though most Saudi-backed Tour players have fallen outside the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking, LIV players had the chance to play in the 2022 U.S. Open and British Open before the Master’s Tournament extended invitations to eligible players for 2023.

“We will invite those eligible under our current criteria to compete in the 2023 Masters Tournament,” Augusta National Golf Club and Masters Tournament chairman Fred Ridley said in a statement. “Regrettably, recent actions have divided men’s professional Golf by diminishing the virtues of the game and the meaningful legacies of those who built it. Although we are disappointed in these developments, our focus is to honor the tradition of bringing together a preeminent field of golfers this coming April.”
On the other hand, the likes of Rickie Fowler, Ian Poulter, and Webb Simpson will not be at the tournament in Augusta National Club the first week of April. Below is a list of players who will be in attendance, as well as those who will miss the tournament.
Who are the LIV Golfers who will be attending the 2023 Masters?
There will be 18 players from the controversial Tour at the 2023 Masters:
LIV Golfers who will miss the Masters Tournament
The Englishman’s decision to join LIV ultimately sacrificed his Masters spot, as he was in the world’s top 30 when he joined in July. He is now set to miss The Masters for the second consecutive year after 15 appearances at Augusta National.
Leishman ecently fell out of the world’s top 100 and will miss The Masters for the first time since 2015.
Poulter is another consequence of a player jumping over the pond. For the first time since 1999, the Englishman is not playing in any Majors this year. Poulter is down at 151st in the world and will not be at Augusta for the second year in a row. His best Masters finish was a T6 in 2015.
LIV golfers who have won the Masters
Six LIV players have won the Masters Tournament before, but Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson lead the defectors’ board with more than one victory each.
