Though Jake Paul is the more experienced boxer with seven fights to his name, his opponent, Nat Diaz, who is making his boxing debut is by far the more seasoned fighter having collected numerous awards across a career that’s lasted more than 15 years.

Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz: The Lay of the Land

When Jake Paul and Nate Diaz step into the ring this coming weekend, it will be to contest a 10-round cruiserweight bout with a catchweight of 185 pounds. Paul who sits on a record of 6-1 with 4 KOs is coming off of a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury back in February. He has since made a few changes to his team such as the addition of trainers Theo Chambers and International Boxing Hall of Fame member “Sugar” Shane Mosley. It’s worth noting that despite his loss to Fury - a boxer in his own right - Paul has actually faired better against MMA opposition. Take for example Tyrone Woodley who he defeated twice with the second being the replacement bout due to Fury cancelling, and then of course there was his victory against the legendary Anderson Silva last October, one which he claimed by unanimous decision.

That being said, it would be fair to say that Nate Diaz is a different ball game. While it’s true that the 38-year-old will be making his boxing debut, he is a former UFC contender and arguably the best fighter to never win a championship. Consider for a moment that he’s taken on the likes of Connor McGregor, Tony Ferguson, Jorge Masdival, Leon Edwards and Benson Henderson to name a few. This is to say that while he may not have as much experience as Paul in the ring, he certainly has quite a bit in the Octagon which is quite frankly a much more unforgiving place. None the less, there are no holds, grapples or kicks in a boxing match, so this one is going to be interesting to say the least.

Where and when is Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz
