Which sports/games are postponed due to the Queen’s death?

Several leagues and clubs have postponed this weekend’s games due to the news of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing on Thursday.

The Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II died ay age 96 on Thursday. Several sporting events that were scheduled to take place have now been postponed. Here is a list of each game that has been suspended as of the time of this writing.

Soccer

All Premier League and EFL games scheduled for this weekend have been postponed.

The FA has postponed the start to the WSL season and non-league and grassroots games.

The Scottish FA, SPFL, SWPL and Highland & Lowland Leagues have postponed all professional games this weekend.

The Irish FA postponed all soccer games in Northern Ireland for this weekend.

Boxing

The British Boxing Board has postponed the middleweight championship fight between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall as well as the unification junior lightweight title fight between Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner. Both bouts have been rescheduled for the provisional date of October 15 at the O2 Arena in London.

Golf

The DP World Tour postponed the BMW PGA Championship. It will resume on Saturday morning at 6:40 a.m.

Cycling

The Tour of Britain has canceled its remaining stages. Friday’s stage six in Gloucestershire, Saturday’s stage seven in Dorset, and Sunday’s stage nine on the Isle of Wight will no longer take place.

Athletics

The Great North 5k and the UK Athletics 5k Road Championship were canceled.

The Junior and Mini Great North run have been postponed.

Cricket

The England and Wales Cricket board confirmed the cancellation of Friday’s cricket games. They will resume on Saturday.

Horse racing

All racing scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday have been postponed. They will resume on Sunday.

The race for Scotland’s Musselburgh racecourse on Sunday has been cancelled.

Rugby Union

The RFU, DCMS, and PRL Board have confirmed that the two matches scheduled for Friday will be postponed.

Bristol Bears vs Bath Rugby will take place on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Sale Sharks vs Northampton Saints will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Welsh Rugby Union has postponed all senior rugby matches in Wales this weekend.

The Scottish Rugby Union has postponed all competitive domestic games this weekend.

Rugby League

The Championship game between Sheffield Eagles and Dewsbury Rams on Friday has been postponed.
