Meet Golovkin’s wife and children
Over the years, GGG has stated that he prefers to keep his family and professional lives separate, so very little is known about his wife, Alina Golovkina, who is also from Kazakhstan, and their two sons. “My focus is on boxing. Boxing: business. The family is different,” Golovkin told USA Today.
Alina and Golovkin were married on July 7, 2007, according to The Sun. The couple has two children, Vadim and a daughter, who was born on September 8, 2017, days before Golovkin’s first fight against Saul Álvarez on September 16, 2017. In 2019, The Sun reported that their son Vadim was in elementary school.

According to Express, Golovkin missed his daughter’s birth in Los Angeles because he stayed in Big Bear Lake, California, to train for his fight against Canelo. According to the media outlet, Golovkin received a call around noon to inform him that his wife was going to the hospital, but GGG said he couldn’t leave because he had a training session at 3:00 pm.

According to Sports Illustrated, Golovkin was born in the city of Karaganda in the Kazakh SSR of the Soviet Union. His father was a Russian coal miner and his mother a Korean chemical lab assistant.
The boxer has three brothers, two older ones, named Sergey and Vadim, and a twin named Maxim, who is part of his team. According to The Sun, when Golovkin was nine years old, his two older brothers joined the Soviet Army. In 1990, the government informed Golovkin's family that Vadim was dead. Four years later, in 1994, the government shared the same news about Sergey.
“Sergey and Vadim, of course, were like my heroes. You know, as is any older brother. We were watching Mike Tyson fights, Muhammad Ali fights, Sugar Ray Leonard fights. Amateur boxers from Russia,” GGG shared in an interview with The Daily Telegraph (viaThe Sun)
According to Sports Illustrated, Golovkin moved from Kazakhstan to Stuttgart, Germany in 2006. In 2014, he moved to California, where he currently lives with his family.
