McIlroy has been in excellent form, winning the Desert Swing at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship earlier this year and securing top-15 finishes in four of his last five starts, including a runner-up finish at the Open de France, one of the European Tour golf tournaments held in mid-October.

Other notable players in the field include Tyrrell Hatton, coming off a win at the Alfred Dunhill Links and two top-10 finishes at the DP World Tour’s YAS Links.

Among the rising stars, Niklas Nørgaard Møller and Johannes Veerman are dark horse picks. Nørgaard Møller recently celebrated his first European Tour win at the British Masters and has shown promise with three additional top-10 finishes. Veerman, a prior European Tour winner, comes in with three consecutive top-15 finishes.

For those looking at long-shot contenders, Gavin Green stands out at 125/1. Known for his consistent performances, Green bagged two top-15 finishes in his last three outings, suggesting potential for a strong showing in Abu Dhabi.

While the field is competitive, McIlroy remains the favorite as he aims to kick off another stellar season with a win in Abu Dhabi.
