The 53rd World Series of Poker kicked off at the end of May, and the Main Event of the tournament is scheduled to begin on July 3 at the Las Vegas Strip at Bally’s, the future Horseshoe, and Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.

The Master of Ceremonies for this year’s World Series was announced in November, and it will be actor and comedian Vince Vaughn.

Vaughn got the ball rolling at the 2021 WSOP Main Event final table by announcing the famous call “Shuffle up and deal!

Vince Vaughn: New poker ambassador

The actor, who is known for his roles in “Wedding Crashers” “Swingers”, and “The Intern”, is also a familiar face on the poker scene. He is among celebrity poker aficionados who take part in private Hollywood high-stakes games.

He was also seen in a 2016 charity event in Los Angeles hosted by the World Poker Tour and Mending Kids, along with Mel Gibson, Gene Simmons, and Andrew Garfield.

The 52-year-old began his acting career in the late 80s by appearing in TV commercials. He was cast in TV and movie roles soon after but did not achieve wide success until he bagged a role in “Swingers” in 1996. His participation in Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster hit The Lost World:Jurassic Park” in 1998 helped make him a household name.

Vaughn has said that he used to be a regular at the Bicycle Hotel & Casino in Los Angeles, and that he hoped to compete in the WSOP Main Event some day.

Part of the actor’s duties as Master of Ceremonies is competing in this year’s Main Event, so it looks like he will soon be getting his wish.
