Why isn’t Emma Raducanu partnering Carlos Alcaraz at U.S. exhibition?
The British star has been ruled out of the exhibition tournament on December 7 and 8, preventing a reunion with Alcaraz.

Emma Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, has withdrawn from an upcoming exhibition event in the United States on December 7 and 8.
The 23-year-old was slated to appear alongside the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Joao Fonseca, Frances Tiafoe and Amanda Anisimova at the tournament, which will be a major money-spinner for those involved.
Raducanu is expected to miss out on around $630,000 but injury prevents her taking to the court. A reoccurrence of a foot issue will keep her sidelined for the two-day showcase, which will be held in New Jersey on December 7 and Miami on December 8.

With Raducanu absent, her place in the tournament will be taken by American star Jessica Pegula. The 31-year-old is currently currently ranked No. 6 in the world and was as high as No. 3 in the 2022, but is still yet to record a Grand Slam victory.
While giving her foot greater time to recover, Raducanu will continue training in Barcelona with coach Francis Roig. The priority for her team will be the Australian Open on January 12, the first Grand Slam of the new season.
