In last night’s fight, organized by Riyadh Season Card, against Uzbek Israil Madrimov, the 154-pound match saw sporadic exchanges of blows in the first four rounds. Madrimov skillfully dodged Crawford’s punches with agile footwork, causing Crawford to fall after getting caught on Madrimov’s foot. Despite Crawford’s strong defense and precise uppercut, Madrimov responded with powerful right blows to Crawford’s face in the 9th round.

Both boxers tried for a knockout in the final round but stayed on their feet. Madrimov’s right hand kept Crawford alert. Crawford won by decision with scores of 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113.

With this win, the 36-year-old boxer from Omaha, Nebraska, maintained his unbeaten record at 41-0 (31 knockouts) while dealing Israil Madrimov his first professional loss at 10-1-1, with 7 KOs. Also with the win against Madrimov, Crawford won the Won WBA and vacant WBO interim light middleweight titles.

Which Boxing association belts did he win during his career?

Crawford currently holds the World Boxing Association (WBA) (Super version), World Boxing Organization (WBO), and The Ring welterweight titles, as well as the (WBA) light middleweight title.

World Boxing Council (WBC) The Ring light welterweight titles

On May 3, 2016, Crawford and WBC champion Viktor Postol signed a contract for a light welterweight unification fight on July 23 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Crawford won the fight by UD, unifying two light-welterweight world titles and claiming the vacant Ring magazine and lineal titles. He staked his claim to division supremacy and set himself up for bigger fights, possibly against Manny Pacquiao.

WBA (Super)/ IBF light welterweight titles

On July 1, 2017, Top Rank announced a lightweight unification fight between Crawford and WBA (Unified) and IBF champion Julius Indongo. The fight took place on August 19 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, with Crawford becoming the undisputed champion after knocking out Indongo in round three. According to CompuBox stats, Crawford landed 26 of his 75 punches thrown (35%), while Indongo landed 13 of 74 thrown (18%).

WBO welterweight title

In front of 8,112 fans, Crawford won the fight against Jeff Horn after a TKO in round nine, becoming a three-weight world champion. All three judges had Crawford winning all the previous rounds. Despite Horn’s aggressive style, Crawford remained the busier and more effective fighter. Crawford dropped Horn for the first time in round nine with an overhand left and eventually stopped the fight. Crawford landed 155 of 367 punches (42%), while Horn landed just 58 of 257 (23%).

WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and vacant The Ring welterweight titles

On July 29, 2023, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, in front of a sold-out crowd of 19,990, Crawford dominated and won the fight against Errol Spence Jr. by a ninth-round technical knockout.

This victory made him the first undisputed welterweight champion since 2006 and the first male boxer in the four-belt era to claim undisputed championship status in two weight divisions. By that point, he had landed 185 total punches to Spence’s 96 and 98 power punches to Spence’s 63. Crawford was ahead 79-70 on all three scorecards at the stoppage.

After the fight, the IBF ordered Crawford to face its interim champion, Jaron Ennis. Because Spence exercised his rematch clause with Crawford, the IBF stripped Crawford of the title and made Ennis the full champion on November 9, 2023.
