WWE legend forms part of the Triple A creative team
Undertaker looks like an important part of the team led by Jeremy Borash and Konnan in the company.
Starting August 1, WWE officially took full control of Triple A’s operations after its purchase was announced in April by TKO Group, the parent company of the wrestling giant. With the acquisition, WWE also installed a team to oversee both storyline development and in-ring work.
On August 16, Shawn Michaels posted a photo on social media showing himself, Triple H and Undertaker on the main stage of Triplemanía XXXIII. The image sent shockwaves through the fanbase, who never expected to see WWE’s top brass at the flagship Mexican event.
Undertaker’s new role shocks Triple A fans
Triple H, as WWE’s Chief Content Officer, approves the storylines that unfold on RAW, SmackDown and NXT. Michaels, who runs NXT, has long worked alongside him on creative matters.
The biggest surprise is Undertaker’s addition to the creative team. Although the Hall of Famer had already contributed backstage at WWE shows, he is now officially part of the group steering Triple A alongside Jeremy Borash – the Mexican promotion’s head of creative – and Konnan, who continues his long-standing role from the days of the Roldán Peña family’s ownership.
While not yet confirmed, wrestling outlet Lucha Libre Online reported that Undertaker personally oversaw several matches at Triplemanía XXXIII, even “booking” them by supervising the layout and execution to maximize the crowd’s experience.
This year’s edition of Triple A’s marquee event, known as the ‘Caravana Estelar,’ broke attendance records at Arena Ciudad de México and generated massive online engagement, cementing its success on the global stage.
