The Road to WrestleMania 40 officially begins at the Royal Rumble. Fans will witness 30 male and 30 female superstars competing in their respective Rumble matches to determine who will participate in the two world title matches at WrestleMania in April.

You can watch a live stream of Royal Rumble 2024 on Peacock.

The Royal Rumble and what it’s all about

Following its debut in 1988, the Royal Rumble quickly became a fan-favorite event and one of WWE’s traditional “Big Four” pay-per-views as many found themselves captivated by the number of stars and the format in which they would fight. Indeed, spectators got to see superstars entering the match one by one in timed intervals to throw their opponents out of the ring. The last fighter left standing would of course earn themselves a one-way ticket to WrestleMania and of course their choice of a world title match.

If you’re wondering, there are two championship matches on the slate for this year’s event. First up will be Roman Reigns, who will defend his undisputed WWE universal championship against AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton in a fatal four-way match. Then there will be the ever-divisive former YouTube star, Logan Paul, who will make his first United States title defense against top contender tournament winner Kevin Owens. In keeping with what was mentioned before, the winner of each bout will be eligible for a title as they progress to fight against a champion of their choosing during WrestleMania 40 which is scheduled for April 6th.
