Toluca will host the California side who take a 2-1 lead to Mexico. Who ever comes out of that tie will meet Tigres on May 30th.
Tigres didn't really create many chances in the second leg from Estadio Universitario, but protecting a one goal lead they didn't need to. One of the only times they were able to get behind Nashville's stingy defense was on a quick throw in from Brunetta to Angel Correa. The former Atletico Madrid man dropped it back to Brunetta who buried the goal and buried Nashville.
Tigres UANL are heading back to the Concacaf Champions Cup final six years after their last appearance, and they closed out the semifinal tie in front of their home fans at El Volcan. Juan Francisco Brunetta scored the deciding goal in the second half from Nuevo Leon to punch the Liga MX side's ticket to the final.
For a team that came into the night needing to create chances, Nashville produced very little in the attacking third. Nauhel Guzman had very little to do all night. Nashville didn't put a shot on target all night and this was the most Nauhel had to work on the night.
IT'S ALL OVER!!!!
Tigres are heading back to the final of the Concacaf Champions Cup six years after their last appearance!
Lainez with a shot with the left foot, around the wall that just hits the outside of the netting.
Foul on Palacios outside the area and Tigres will waste some time and maybe have one more go at goal.
Three minutes of stoppage time added.
Nashville passing the ball across the back line like they are holding on to a lead, but they are the ones who should have the look of desperation.
Correa tried the goal olympico from the corner on the left side, but it just went over the hand and cross bar of Schwake.
Tigres trying to hit Nashville on the counter and it was Correa looking to take a shot from the left side of the box but Palacios was there to block the shot. Corner coming for the Liga MX side.
Brunetta, the goal scorer, comes off for Guerrero who will play the final 8 minutes.
Garza found Correa with a through ball into the area but a heavy touch gave Nashville back possession. Now let's see if they can do anything with the ball at their feet.
Nashville are the team with the most urgency but they can't take possession away from Tigres.
Reyes found himself on the end of a weak clearance from Nashville and fired a shot from outside the area but it was always rising high of the cross bar.
Najar comes out for Lovitz who will try and bring some magic off the bench.
Short corner finds it's way to Lainez who sent in a cross that was over the head of everyone in the area.
Correa's free kick deflects off the wall and goes out for a corner kick.
Sanchez with the take away in the middle of the park and he drove at defenders until he was fouled outside of the area. This could be a chance to take a chance on goal from the free kick.
Espinoza fires that free kick right into the wall and again Nashville are a bit wasteful with the chances that have been few and far between.
Four on Tigres on Baker'Whiting from a decent spot. Maybe a bit too far for a shot but perfect for a service in.
Sanchez gets to the end line on the left side and tried to send a ball back into the mix but that pass trailed off and hit the top of the cross bar. Could have been unintentionally dangerous, but it comes to nothing.
The goal takes away any possibility of extra time. Now Nashville have to score two goals to have any chance.
Mohammed into the game for Madrigal and Qasem for Acosta.
After more than an hour of trying, it was a throw in that opened up the defense and created the best chance of the night for either side.
GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!
A quick throw in from Brunetta to Correa opened up the defense and Correa laid it off for Brunetta who took a touch and buried what could be the deciding goal in this tie!
Nashville have to figure out who to get some possession and work the ball around in the attacking third.
Lainez came in for Aguirre just a moment ago.
Quick counter and it was Lainez who just came on as a sub who had a chance to sent it into the box, but his cross was sent away by Palacios.

Brunetta was trying to control the ball at the edge of the area and poked it through for Correa who was just a half second late as Schwake came off his line and claimed that.
Muyl is the first one taken off from Nashville and it's Pacius coming off the bench.
There are some subs warming up on the touchline for Nashville, let's see how long it takes them to bring some fresh legs onto the pitch.
Correa's cross on the right side of the box was cut out on the front post and sent away.
Madrigal in the middle of the pitch and he tried to play in Najar in behind the defense but that pass carries out over the end line for a goal kick.
A lot of minor little nibbles in the midfield from both teams who are not allowing too much fluid play in the first few minutes of this second half. It's a bit nerve from both sides.
Ball over the top for Mukhtar and he was pushed over at the top of the area, but the flag went up for offside before the ref had to make a decision at the top of the area.
Tigres coming out on the front foot, controlling possession but not able to do too much with it. So far the defensive shape for Nashville has been the best part of their first 47 minutes.
WE ARE UNDERWAY IN THE SECOND HALF OF ACTION FROM NUEVO LEON.
Sanches Guevara is going to come in off the bench for Flores to start the second half for Tigres. No subs for Nashville yet.
Let's see if Nashville comes out of the break with some subs planned. They didn't produce a whole lot in the attacking third in the opening 45.
Nauhel has been the busier keeper, but not by much. He did have an injury scare but it looks like he's going to be ok coming out of the break. Tigres captain Gorriaran had to leave the pitch in the first quarter of an hour after suffering a muscular injury.
If you needed an indication of just how the first half was played, know that there have been no highlights posted anywhere. Both teams created a couple of half chances but nothing really came of any of those attacks.
WE ARE HEADING TO HALFTIME FROM EL VOLCAN!!!
Tigres are holding on to their 1-0 lead from the first leg. Not much happened for either side in the opening half, but that will surely change in the second 45.
The free kick bounced around the top of the area until it fell for Flores who was unable to get any power behind the shot and Schwake makes his first intervention of the night with an easy save.
Correa chopped down near the left touchline and this will be one more chance for Tigres to push players up the pitch with the free kick to come.
Brunetta with a ball from the left side to the back post hoping to find Vigon but that cross was a bit too high for the substitute.
This match opening up in the final few minutes of the half and hopefully that's a sign of things to come in the second half.
Espinoza's ball into the area found Baker-Whiting who flicked it on and it was finally cleared away by Romulo.
Five minutes of stoppage time in the first half.
Nauhel got his legs swept out from under him by his own teammate and he is really slow to get up. No time wasting here. The Tigres keeper looks like he might have taken a serious knock.
Mukhtar with a fantastic ball behind the defense for Najar who sent a one time ball in, and that was cleared by keeper Nauhel with his foot for a corner. He paid the price for that intervention and is slow to get back to his feet.

Vigon pushing up to the end line and tried to play a bouncing ball back into a dangerous area but that sails over the line for a goal kick.
Mukhtar lines up the free kick and he skies that effort over the cross bar. Was never going to trouble the keeper with that attempt.
Madrigal gets the ball at midfield, turns and carries until he was just at the edge of the area before getting chopped down. Dangerous area for a free kick right on the top of the area from right of dead center of the D.
A ball from the back by Palacios was misplayed in the back and that fell for Madrigal ran on to the bouncing ball in the box, but a courageous bit of defending from Angulo saw him throw his body in the way and block the shot while taking a bit of punishment. He stays down and will get a bit of treatment, but he'll be fine.
The fans at El Volcan have been roaring since well before this match started. I guess you would expect that from a stadium with that name. There is not an empty seat in the house and they have been signing and chanting since the start.
Corner kick sent in from Espinoza and this ball into the mix was too tall for Woldezi, and another attacking position fails to create any real danger for Tigres.
Long ball sent into the box from Acosta but that ball was sniffed out by the keeper Nauhel for his first touch of the evening.
Still no saves have had to be made for either keeper. There haven't been many clear chances, but play has been open and there is space to take advantage at El Volcan.
Espinoza carries to the end line and put an ambitious ball into the area that was easily taken care of by Tigres.
A terrible mistake from Palacios gifts possession to Tigres right outside the area as he tried to clear the ball and Aguirre had his first good look at goal, but blew it wide of target.

Gorriaran heads to the bench with his shirt pulled over his head trying to hide his despair, It's Vigon who comes off the bench to play the final 76 minutes.

Espinoza carrying the ball diagonally across the pitch and winds up with a shot off his weaker left foot that rolls harmlessly wide of target.
Not much hesitating from Tigres when it comes to pushing up. They have a one goal lead, but they know they can't just sit back and defend for 90 minutes.
Muhktar had a chance to take a touch and let one loose at goal from outside the area, but the wall was strong from Tigres who deflect that shot. Both keepers still waiting to make their first intervention in this match.

Ball sent into the box, and that was deflected off of Najer's hand and Tigres gets a chance to set up a free kick on the right side of the area.
A one two ends up in a favorable position for Flores who takes a shot that was deflected by Palacios.
Espinoza was the danger man for Nashville in the first leg, and is already showing signs of life down the right wing.
Nashville came out the more intent on goal in the first 20 minutes of last game. Down a goal, let's see how they come into tonight.
WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM EL VOLCAN!!!! 90 MINUTES TO DECIDE WHO IS OFF TO THE FINAL OF THE CONCACAF CHAMPIONS CUP.
Tigres are up a goal to the good after 90 minutes and now they have 90 more minutes to close this tie out at home. Here is there XI to start the second leg of the semifinal.
It's one of the biggest games in club history for Nashville SC, and this is the XI that Brian Callaghan has chosen for tonight's game in El Volcan.
CCC dominance from down south
There are two MLS teams remaining, and two Liga MX teams fighting for a spot in the final. Historically this has been a tournament that has been dominated by the Mexican teams. It's not just Cruz Azul and Club America, who are the all time winningest clubs in the history of this competition with seven each, it’s Pachuca with six and Monterey with five. Mexican teams have been in 60 finals before while MLS clubs have been to just 11. With more on the dominance from South of the Border, here is Marcos Olvera.
Final coming up at end of May
It all comes down to this. These two teams have 90 more minutes to battle it out for the first spot in the Concacaf Champions Cup Final. The other semifinal second leg will be played tomorrow from Toluca as the Red Devils host LAFC. LAFC took the advantage in the opening 90 minutes but Toluca did get an away goal to head back to Mexico needing to comeback from a 2-1 first leg. The two winners of the semifinal ties will meet on May 30th from the Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca, Mexico.
League form: Nashville
Nashville did what they have been doing all season in Philadelphia over the weekend. They went into the City of Brotherly Love and held Philadelphia FC scoreless. The only problem was they didn't score either. They do remain at the top of the Eastern Conference even though they dropped points a few days ago, and their 23 points are third best in the entire league. Their six goals allowed is the second best rate in the league, only behind the Seattle Sounders who have conceded just five.
League form: Tigres
Tigres are currently facing knockout ties in both the league and in the CCC. Over the weekend they took on Guadalajara Chivas from the Estadio Universitario and beat the second placed team in the Clausura 3-1. Chivas scored the opener, but Tigres would equalize just before half with a goal from Jesus Angulo. Juan Francisco Brunetta scored just out of the break in the 52nd minute and three minutes later Diego Sanchez Guevara added to the Tigres advantage with the final goal of the first leg.
CCC history: Nashville
Nashville have only been around in the MLS since 2020. They made their debut in the league just a month before COVID his, and since then have appeared in the CCC just once before this year. That came in 2024 when the got to the round of 16 before getting knocked out by Inter Miami. They have made their return, and exacted their revenge over Inter Miami, and now they set their sights on the final as the club as already made history with a run to the semis.
CCC history: Tigres
Tigres UANL's first appearance in the CCC came back in 2011. For a Liga MX side that has been around for six decades, that's a long time to wait to debut in the tournament. While they don’t have as extensive of a history as Club America or Cruz Azul, they do make noise when they do make the tournament. They have been to the CCC Final on four occasions. Their first came in 2015/16, but they lost. They returned the next year, and fell short in the final again. One more trip to the final in 2019 was the final obstacle they needed before finally breaking the seal and winning the Concacaf Champions Cup in 2020 when they beat Los Angeles FC. They are looking for a fifth trip to the final and a second CCC title.
Star watch: Nashville
You can't talk about the Nashville stars without mentioning Brian Schwake. He has been in outstanding form both in the MLS and in the CCC. He’s allowed just two goals in the seven matches he’s played in this tournament, and has seen just six goals get past him in 10 domestic league matches. That’s great, but if Nashville is going to have to have any change at advancing to the final they are going to need to score goals. Multiple goals. Sam Surridge scored 9 in 7 MLS matches but he is injured. Woobens Pacius is the top scorer in the CCC with 2, but we know its going to come down to former MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar.
Star watch: Tigres
It was Angle Correa who made the difference in the first game from Nashville. That's nothing knew for Correa or for Tigres. In the league he’s scored 16 goals and set up 12 goals with his assists. In the CCC he’s scored a couple and will be looking to add to that tally tonight. Juan Francisco Burnetta is the top scorer with 19 in the league while Rodrigo Aguirre is the top scorer with 4 goals. Ozziel Herrera has three goals to his name but he picked up an injury and is a doubt for this game.
How they got here: Nashville
For Nashville SC, it's been their defense that has carried them to this stage of the tournament. Before the goal they conceded to Tigres in the opening leg they had only allowed one goal all tournament. They kept Ottawa FC off the board for 180 minutes in the first round tie that Nashville won 7-0. Then they had a massive matchup with Inter Miami and after a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Lionel Messi scored a goal in the 7th minute to take the advantage but a Christian Espinoza goal equalized the tie and pushed Nashville through on away goals. Then they faced seven time champion Cruz Azul in the quarters. Hany Mukhtar scored the only goal of the 180 minutes, during the second half of the return leg.
How they got here: Tigres
The Liga MX side didn't have an easy road to the semis, and if recent history shows anything, this should be a test as well. They were able to slide by Forge FC in an easy first round match up that ended with a 4-1 aggregate over the Canadian side. The round of 16 got a little messy. They lost to FC Cincinnati 3-0 in the first leg away from home, but they had a dramatic come back in Nuevo León winning 5-1 and closing out the Ohio based club. The next round brought the Seattle Sounders and they would go into the Pacific Northwest and take a 2-0 win back to Mexico for the final leg. Seattle put up a fight but only managed a 3-3 as Tigres moved on to the semis.
First leg recap
Nashville showed that they can play an attacking brand of soccer when they need to in the first leg. They controlled the opening 20 minutes and even put the first goal in the back of the net with a header from Hany Mukhtar, but it was taken off the board because of an offside. That seemed to wake Tigres up and in the 33rd minute Angel Correa scored a fantastic goal from outside the area to put the Liga MX side up 1-0 and they would protect that lead for the rest of the way. Tigres have the advantage, but this is still anyone's tie coming into the second leg.
We are live from El Volcan
Hello everyone and welcome to the Estadio Universitario where Tigres return home looking to take care of business and return to the final for the first time in since winning it back in 2020. They return to their fortress where they have been unbeatable in this tournament, and will be aiming at protecting their one goal advantage for the final 90 minutes of this semifinal tie. If Nashville is going to turn things around in Nuevo León they are going to have to do it by attacking, and that hasn't exactly been their strong suit to this point of the tournament. They are a fantastic defensive team but tonight they will need to find ways to put shots on target after a relatively temped first leg at home.
Tigres UANL vs. Nashville SC
We have 90 minutes to decide who is moving on to the Concacaf Champions Cup final here from Nuevo León.
