Erling Haaland is only 22 and has his whole future ahead of him. And that is precisely what his father, Alfie, has spoken about in a documentary called “Haaland - The Big Decision”, which tells the story of the Norwegian footballer’s life.

Haaland could not have had a better start to life in the Premier League with Manchester City, where he has scored 14 goals in 10 games, but the English league might not be his last destination.

“I think Erling wants to prove himself in every league. So he can be in every league for three to four years maximum. He could have two and a half years in Germany, two and a half years in England, and then Spain, Italy and France, right?,” former City player Alfie says in the documentary, and it appears to be his son’s wish as well.

Real Madrid want Haaland

“We don’t know if that will be the case [if he will end up in another league], but I think he would like to try his skills in the big leagues,” admits Haaland’s father, who not for the first time has spoken about the future of the player. Real Madrid are still reportedly targeting the City striker.

Bayern Munich second choice

The documentary also gives some insight into the clubs that the Norway international could have signed for. “On our list, I think Manchester City is the best team. Bayern Munich is number two. We have Real Madrid as number three, Paris Saint-Germain as number four...”, Haaland Sr says.
